I have a page that is climbing and I want to capitalize on the growth with a redesign to make it more convertible.
That said, I don’t want this page to be down at all while I work on it.
My question is – what happens if I duplicate the page in the backend of my website, update the duplicate, and then publish the duplicate page with the same URL as the original, and unpublish the original page.
Will it retain the original page’s SEO value? Or would google view this as a brand new page, even though the URL is identical (the new, updated page is essentially replacing the original one).
